New Age Kurling

On Wednesday 6th December, Mr Deadman took four pupils from Sea Turtle class to compete in the borough Kurling competition at Garons. Kurling has been introduced to the pupils in PE lessons this year and they have all really enjoyed learning how to play the sport. The team won their first few games and progressed through to the semi-finals to finish in fourth place overall! Not only did everyone perform so well but the attitude and support they showed towards each other meant that they were awarded the sportsmanship award. Fire Brigade Visit Reception

' The Essex fire brigade came to visit the nursery and reception pupils today. The children had an opportunity to speak with the fire fighters and find out about what they do in their job. The fire engine was very big so the children really enjoyed climbing up into the cabin where the fire fighters keep parts of their uniform and equipment. Each child was able to shoot the water from the hose and we were all surprised at how far the water travelled! Finally, Miss Pell and Mrs Bolter had a race to put a fire fighters uniform on, it was a close call, but Mrs Bolter won the race!
