Fire Brigade Visit Reception

' The Essex fire brigade came to visit the nursery and reception pupils today. The children had an opportunity to speak with the fire fighters and find out about what they do in their job. The fire engine was very big so the children really enjoyed climbing up into the cabin where the fire fighters keep parts of their uniform and equipment. Each child was able to shoot the water from the hose and we were all surprised at how far the water travelled! Finally, Miss Pell and Mrs Bolter had a race to put a fire fighters uniform on, it was a close call, but Mrs Bolter won the race! Well done to the fantastic learning behaviour that the children showed and to the fire fighters who were so accommodating.'
