New Age Kurling

December 12, 2017

On Wednesday 6th December, Mr Deadman took four pupils from Sea Turtle class to compete in the borough Kurling competition at Garons. Kurling has been introduced to the pupils in PE lessons this year and they have all really enjoyed learning how to play the sport. The team won their first few games and progressed through to the semi-finals to finish in fourth place overall!

Not only did everyone perform so well but the attitude and support they showed towards each other meant that they were awarded the sportsmanship award. This award is given out each term to a school team or pupil who has demonstrated great sportsmanship and so it is a fantastic achievement that of all the borough competitions this term (of which there have been lots) our team managed to get the award. Well done to the pupils, I know they are very proud of themselves as I saw them when they returned and it was so lovely to hear about how much they had enjoyed the day. Winter Olympics here we come!
