Year 5 Educational Visit to St. Mary’s Church & Priory Park
Year 5 visited St. Mary’s Church and Priory Park as part of their study of the local area. The children had been researching and writing about the origins of Southend and visiting the sites of the original Anglo Saxon settlement and chapel allowed us to further understand the history. Gary Collard Online Safety Visit
On Tuesday the 22nd of May, we were lucky to have a second visit from Online Safety expert Gary Collard. Gary – a vastly experienced former police officer – spent the morning delivering an engaging and informative session for parents (across all year groups). Royal Wedding Celebrations
The children had great fun celebrating Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding. They whipped their own cream and spread their own jam on very tasty scones! The children then role played the wedding and pretended to be various Members of the Royal Family, using masks. Miss Pell had also brought her wedding dress and veil in ,to try on, and we found that they were very long! The children compared Miss Pell's dress to Meghan Markle's and found lots of differences. EYFS Coffee Morning
Parents attended an EYFS coffee morning on Tuesday. We played some ice breaker games which really sparked conversations and some laughs! The parents brought quiche and cake along for us all to enjoy. Gemma's Farm
The children had a visit from Gemma’s Farm. The mobile farm set up the animals in our early years garden, the children were fascinated with the wide variety! They could hold the lambs, ferrets and rabbits and petted the pony, sheep and hens. Once each group took turns to visit the animals, the children were able to come and go as they pleased which led to lots of discussion about caring for different animals.
