On Friday 28th November, seven of our Year 4 musicians joined children from, Thorpdene, Richmond and Friars for an exciting Jazz Music experience. Mason, Tiarna, Aaisha, Alexia, Alvin, Kirthikvasan and Blake, explored the world of jazz through improvisation, using claps, their voices, and a variety of percussion instruments. This week, Mrs Britton worked with some of our Year 1 children to make bird feeders. The children began by carefully heating the lard and mixing in the bird seed. They also learned how to tie a knot in a piece of string so they could hang their yoghurt-pot feeders. Once the pots were filled with the lard and seed mixture, the children headed out to the garden. Nursery to Year 1 will have the opportunity to enjoy our new garden area on the KS2 playground with Mrs Britton, taking part in small group sessions. This week, Reception were the first to get involved. Reception began by doing some gardening before creating beautiful transient art pictures using natural materials.
