

Christingle Celebrations for Years 3 and 4
This week, our Year 3 and Year 4 children enjoyed their very own Christingle services, held on separate days and led by Mother Phyllis. Family Reading Workshop – A Wonderful Success!
Last week’s Family Reading Workshop was a delightful event, providing a fantastic introduction to phonics and practical tips for reading at home. Jazz Adventure at Beecroft Gallery!
On Friday 28th November, seven of our Year 4 musicians joined children from, Thorpdene, Richmond and Friars for an exciting Jazz Music experience. Mason, Tiarna, Aaisha, Alexia, Alvin, Kirthikvasan and Blake, explored the world of jazz through improvisation, using claps, their voices, and a variety of percussion instruments. Outdoor Learning
This week, Mrs Britton worked with some of our Year 1 children to make bird feeders. The children began by carefully heating the lard and mixing in the bird seed. They also learned how to tie a knot in a piece of string so they could hang their yoghurt-pot feeders. Once the pots were filled with the lard and seed mixture, the children headed out to the garden. This week, a few more groups of our Reception children enjoyed another wonderful outdoor session in the garden. They had so much fun kicking up the autumn leaves, laughing and exploring together before practising how to put on and take off their gloves — a great chance to build independence! Exploring the New Garden Space
Nursery to Year 1 will have the opportunity to enjoy our new garden area on the KS2 playground with Mrs Britton, taking part in small group sessions. This week, Reception were the first to get involved. Reception began by doing some gardening before creating beautiful transient art pictures using natural materials. The children made their own frames and used secateurs carefully to cut twigs to size. Some designed pictures of their faces, while others made imaginative monsters
