Porters Grange Pupils Get Creative at the Coast

Year 2 pupils from Porters Grange Primary School enjoyed a refreshing and creative morning at the local beach today, taking part in a special outdoor art session.
The trip began with a moment of calm as the children sat quietly, listening to the sound of the sea. With shoes and socks off, they then took to the shoreline for a paddle, feeling the cool water on their feet.
Inspired by their surroundings, the pupils worked individually, in pairs, or small groups to collect natural materials from the beach. Using shells, pebbles, driftwood, and seaweed, they created their own framed works of art in the sand — each one a unique expression of their creativity and teamwork.
The session was a fun and hands-on way to explore nature, art, and the joy of learning outside the classroom.
