Gardening Club

On Friday 13th October 2017 the Porters Grange Gardening Club harvested their first crop of runner beans and potatoes ready to be cooked by the school kitchen and served on Tuesday 17th October. The children were eager to present their produce to a member of the kitchen staff and our very own caretaker Mr Hudson. The food grown by the Gardening Club will appear on the menu for the rest of the school to enjoy as and when it is ready in order to provide the school children with a healthy home grown school dinner. Lorraine commented ‘I am definitely going to be school dinners next week so I can taste what they have done with our runner beans and potatoes.’ Watch this space for more healthy harv

Tag Rugby

It was a brisk Autumn morning as schools from across the borough descended upon Southend Rugby Club for the annual tag rugby tournament. There was an air of anticipation as each team sized each other up in the pre-group gathering, each looking to gain the psychological advantage on their potential opponents. Porters Grange were drawn into group D – perhaps a prelude to the determination that would be shown by the team throughout the day. With the battle lines drawn, the teams drilled in the arts of attack and defence, the first whistle blew in the match against Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School.
