Southend Makes Music

Members of the Porters Grange Choir had the amazing experience of performing on stage at the Palace Theatre on Monday 26th February.

We left school at 3pm travelling by train to Westcliff Station, arriving at the theatre in time for a short rehearsal on stage before having a picnic tea in the café area.

After this we changed into our choir polo shirts and waited in the green room for our turn to perform.

Sonny the Seagull visited us in the green room – he is the Music on Sea mascot.

We performed 3 songs on the ukulele and then sang ‘Believe’.

“It was fun, although I felt scared and worried I would mess everything. Afterwards I was happy I had taken part.” Viktorija

“It was great fun, I had mixed feelings, like I was happy, I was nervous, I was scared and excited. I was proud to take part” Maria

“Southend Makes Music was an exciting experience. Even though it was scary, it was a lot of fun. It felt like VIAM and SEESMA except smaller.” Connor
