Portico Dodgeball tournament

On Thursday 24th January, a team of Year 6 children were selected to compete in the Portico Dodgeball tournament at Friars Primary School. On the court, Porters sadly lost their first game to the excellent Hamstel Juniors side 3-0. But it was a lesson quickly learned as Porters bounced back from defeat to overcome West Leigh 2-1 in the second game. With second place overall up for grabs Porters went into the final game with Friars school full of confidence, coming out 2-1 winners thanks to some excellent catching from Sourup, who managed to catch three balls in a row in rapid succession! Off the court, the children were excellently behaved, showing real enthusiasm for the sport and for taking part, often complimenting opposition players for their good performances. The children had a brilliant time, a huge thank you to Friars School for hosting the event and the children can’t wait for the next tournament!
