Year 6 Author Talk

On Tuesday, Year 6 went to Southend Library to hear the fantastic author, Claire Linney talk. She shared her love of time travel and black British history during the Tudor and Victorian times. Claire challenged misconceptions about black people in the past using evidence that many were born in this country and had skilled jobs. We were very impressed with how well the children listened and joined in with the session.  Ask them if they remember any of the Victorian slang! One of the children said, "It was great learning about the Victorian streets and made me wonder what would happen if I lived there."
