Goalball

Bells jingled all the way across at Garons Sports Hall last Wednesday, it wasn’t Santa come early but the exciting Paralympic sport of Goalball. Created for the visually impaired, Goalball is played using a ball filled with bells and to ensure it is fair for everyone, by blindfold players! Six children from years 3, 5 and 6 gallantly represented the school at a sport that was new to them with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Despite their inexperience the children managed to win through to the second round where unfortunately they came up against stronger opposition who knocked them out. Well done to Imogen, Dominic, Adil (year 3), Melissa, Alexis (year 5) and Leila (year 6).
